FAQ

What is the difference between Global and non-global proctoring?
With a dedicated instance of ProctorExam, you can manage multiple institutes.
Global Proctoring/Reviewing means that only people with a global proctor / global reviewer role are able to supervise and review sessions across any of the institutes on your instance.
With the Institute level Proctoring / Reviewing on the other hand, a user will only have access to a specific institute’s sessions.
Is there any specific role that can be set-up for quality monitoring perspective?
ProctorExam includes an ‘Auditor’. This role can be allocated to quality assurance team member and/or awarding bodies for more transparency. Please contact ProctorExam team if you'd like to set up such users on your account.
Can emails sent to candidates be customised?
ProctorExam provides the option of enabling or disabling default emails. Emails can be customised by using our available API documentation
What is the difference between global and local reviewing?
What can a global reviewer do?
A global reviewer can review videos from all the institutes that have global reviewing switched on.

What can a local reviewer do?
A local reviewer can review videos only from the institute which invited him as a reviewer.

How to switch global reviewing on or off?
On the main page, the reviewer panel appears to superusers. There is a button under the panel that says ‘ Global Reviewing - Yes/No’ .

This is so that you as a superuser can try to view it in the way it would appear to both a global or local reviewer. On the main page, switching global on or off is only for viewing purposes.

So how can the settings of an institute be changed?
On the top right corner of your main page, choose the right institute, click on Settings ----> Advanced Settings -----> Scroll down to find the two options-----> click on ‘Update’
